Meet the Bloom House staff Team

Hi I'm Clara! Executive Director and founder of BHYS.

What motivates me is the knowlege that trauma-informed inclusive care is crucial to providing effective shelter and prevention services to youth, yet this approach is lacking in so many "tough love" sort of youth programs. I bring my own theoretical orientation informed primarily by the two Carls; Jung and Rogers, to how I approach everything from teaching to leadership and program building.

I love coffee, languages, ghosty spooky things, sci-fi, and time with my nieces and nephews! In addition to my work at BHYS, I'm an educator and an art therapist. I'm an INFJ, an Enneagram 6w5, and if you're familiar with Adler's birth order theory - you'll not be suprised when I say I'm a classic older sister, though I try not to be too bossy!

Hi I'm Emily, project manager and co-founder. I'm also a certified human trafficking prevention consultant from the US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights.

Bloom House is so important to me because I want everyone to have a safe place to be themselves and know that they are welcome. My Mom (Gramma Shari to most) was the best at welcoming everyone, so I got to learn from the master. My goal is to make sure every young person who comes to Bloom House feels as safe and comfortable here while they tackle difficult things.

I love being an Auntie, and also love music, history, and animals (especially cats), and I spend too much time on TikTok! I'm an INFP and an enneagram 9w1. When I'm not working I might be found listening to podcasts or reading. I'll ALWAYS want to see pictures of your cats.

Hi there! I'm Carolee, the Art Therapist and Director of Services.

I work with youth in difficult situations because I want to make this planet a better place for everyone. Children are the future, and working with teens is so rewarding! I love to help people learn positive ways to navigate their world, utilize adaptive skills to improve their lives, and find new ways to communicate! Art therapy helps immensely when some things are just too hard to talk about. My approach is informed by family systems theory.

I love reading and rainy days, the smell of coffee, all things art and science, costumes and pretend, hanging out with my kids, gaming with my husband, animals of any sort, and feeling helpful. Outside of BHYS, I'm an artist and home improvement hobbyist. I often help rehabilitate injured or abandoned animals.

Hi I'm Kaela, one of the case managers here at Bloom House.  I have such a passion for working with teens because they are so energetic, curious, and creative. They have a unique worldview and their resilience allows them to accomplish anything!

My favorite part of this job is working with the clients on their goals, helping them learn and grow, and discover their fullest potential.

I am currently a graduate student working on my Clinical Counseling degree with a focus both in mental health and addictions. I love traveling, cooking, true crime podcasts, and dance music. Some of my interests include writing poetry, spending time outdoors, and thrifting. I am a 2 on the enneagram and an ENFJ motivated to help others and not let any barriers stand in my way!

Hi! I'm Noah, one of the case managers here at Bloom House. I believe a place like this is so important for the community; it would have made a world of difference for me when I was a teen. I'm proud to be a part of such an inclusive and incredible support team.

I am currently finishing my bachelor's degree in journalism at Emporia State University and have volunteered with youth-centered organizations in the past whenever given the opportunity.

I admit I am the stereotypical Virgo who loves school for the sake of learning new things. When not in class or at work, you may find me binge watching my favorite TV shows, live action or animated (and becoming emotionally attached to the characters way too often!) I also love to write poetry and read in the evenings.
