Meet the Bloom House Team
Clara She/HerHi I'm Clara! President and founder of BHYS and why I know this organization is necessary is that I saw the need going un-addressed when I was the director of a homeless shelter for adults. Talking about that with Emily one night led to us realizing we had to do something about it! Inclusive, trauma-informed, youth-oriented programing is crucial. I love coffee, time with my nieces and nephews, and sci-fi! I'm an educator and an art therapist. You can learn all about me in that I'm an INFJ, an Enneagram 6, and an older sister.

Emily She/TheyHi I'm Emily, I have a dual role of Project Manager and as Secretary of the board of directors. Bloom House is so important to me because I want everyone to have a safe place to be themselves and know that they are welcome. My Mom (Gramma Shari to most) was the best at welcoming everyone, so I got to learn from the master. I love being an Auntie, I love animals, and I spend too much time on TikTok. I'm an INFP and an enneagram 9w1. I'll ALWAYS want to see pictures of your cats.

Jen She/HerHi! I am Jen, VP of Bloom House Youth Services. I am proud to be a co-founder of Bloom House Youth Services because shelter and safety are a human right. I am a Taurus Sun, with a Scorpio Moon, and a Gemini Ascendant, and I always have a Tarot deck handy at all times. I am an ENFJ, and my Enneagram Type is 8. In my downtime, I am curled up in bed watching Schitt's Creek for the 250th time, and eating sushi. I am the very lucky mom of two boys who are my whole world, and I have recently added hoarding plants to my self care regimen.

Becky She/HerHi I'm Becky, as a board member, I'm excited to lend my experience as a queer woman of color and a mental health professional. I've been serving others since 2012 working with various populations such as homelessness, mental health, and addictions. When I'm not being a therapist, I enjoy spending time drinking coffee, being a cat mom, cooking/baking, and crocheting.

Shelly She/HerHi I'm Shelly! Our mission is personal to me because I was homeless as a youth. The services available where I lived focused on adults and their children, not a teen who needed help getting to school and affording groceries that could be eaten without a kitchen. The only place to get a meal was in the part of town that wasn’t safe. I’m good at educating, planning, and advocacy. I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, and swimming.

Will He/HimHi, I’m Will, parliamentarian for BHYS! This organization is vital to our community; it serves as a lifeline for many who have no where else to turn. Thanks to BHYS we will be able to reach those youth through our inclusive, trauma-informed, youth-oriented programing. I've worked serving youth of all ages in educational settings as they strive to become the best version of themselves possible. I enjoy connecting to others over coffee (shop local!), spending time with family and our adorable labradoodle, Wrigley.

William He/HimHi, I'm William! I'm a historian and passionate about reducing homelessness among youth. I have many years of volunteer experience in organizations serving those experiencing homelessness. I'm a part of Bloom House because this place and services are very much needed. I enjoy Star Trek, American history - particularly the experiences of the LGBTQ+ community through the ages, and fostering cats as part of Flint Hills Flower Fosters with Street Cats Club.

Angie She/HerHi, I'm Angie! I'm a local small business owner. The health and wellbeing of my community is important to me. I have served, and currently serve on boards for organizations which help survivors of intimate partner violence and people of all ages experiencing homelessness. I'm a part of Bloom House because I know if our youth feel supported when they need it, they'll grow into adults who will in turn support others and the whole community will be stronger for it. I enjoy true crime, reading by the pool, time spent hosting family and friends at home, and good coffee!
